Alameda County Office of Dental Health

Strategic Planning

The Office of Dental Health coordinates county-wide oral health efforts and engages stakeholders such as health professionals, oral health advocates, community residents, and organizations in a county-wide strategic planning process.  The first Alameda County Strategic Plan for Oral Health 2012-2017 has served as blueprint to move oral health efforts in Alameda County.

The Office of Dental Health is currently coordinating the strategic planning process for 2019-2024. Stakeholders participated in a Strategic Planning for Oral Health Retreat on June 27, 2018 and identified five key focus areas for a new Strategic Plan for Oral Health:  Access, Promotion, Integration of Oral Health and Medical, Oral Health Workforce, and Inform Policy. The new Strategic Plan for Oral Health 2019-2024 will be released in January 2019.

Workgroups will be established in 2019 to move forward specific objectives and strategies outlined in the new Strategic Plan for Oral Health 2019-2024.
